Physical Therapy

Physical therapy involves the interaction between therapist, patients or clients, other health care professionals, families, caregivers in a process where movement potential is assessed and diagnosed and goals are agreed upon.

Conditions treated include:

  • Post surgical care – rehabilitation management after common surgeries including shoulder arthroscopies, tendon repairs, and tendon releases, ACL/MCL/meniscal repair, bunion correction, spine surgery

  • Vestibular dysfunction/vertigo
  • Neuro-rehabilitation including post stroke therapy and balance correction
  • Neck pain
  • Nerve/dural entrapments and adhesions

The treatment and direction of body work required is planned after the PT’s evaluation.  Whether it’s stretching, core stabilization, or biomechanical correction, you will be in good hands. You will in all likelihood have one of the best workouts you will ever get.

Massage Therapy

The massage provided at Bodies In Balance is done under PT guidance. It is therapeutic by intent and nature, after a treatment goal and approach has been discussed with the patient and the massage therapist.

Massage is a complete way to relieve pain and discomfort from muscular tension following an injury or trauma as well as stress-induced pain.

Muscular system:

  • Reduces adhesions in muscles and connective tissue
  • Helps to keep muscles flexible and pliable
  • Relieves soreness, tension, and stiffness

 Nervous system:

  • Stimulates nerve points
  • Relieves pain, restlessness, and insomnia

Circulatory system:

  • Improves oxygen and nutrient supply to cells
  • Decreases blood pressure and helps to develop a stronger heart

Respiratory system:

  • Assists in proper breathing
  • Helps develop respiratory muscles

Lymph system:

  • Increases circulation of lymph
  • Promotes elimination of toxins

Digestive system:

  • Stimulates activity of liver and kidneys

Integumentary (skin) system:

  • Stimulates blood to better nourish the skin
  • Improves tone and elasticity

 Skeletal system

  • Improves body alignment
  • Relieves stiff joints
